can't sleep!

Oh I can't stand it when I can't sleep...especially when I've got to be up early in the morning! That's the reason why I can't sleep though so it's just a vicious cycle. I'm flying to Dorset tomorrow for a meeting over two days and I have to get up at 5 am to get to the airport. Hopefully I'll get some rest on the plane but I doubt it!

Today, or should I say yesterday was a really wierd day. I had lots of little jobs to do, and it felt as though nothing got done, which of course it did. I had to pack for aforementioned trip, get my designers kit ready for my demo at dobbies garden world in Sheffield on Saturday, and continue to try and move and sort out my stuff in my new craft studio. It was also my husbands birthday and I hadn't got him a cake, or I'm ashamed to say - made him a card, so I had to organise that. He's so difficult to buy for, so he said he wanted a stirrup pump and a water bottle for his bike, so that's exactly what he got.
We went to the cinema to see Sweeny Todd, which was really good, but I didn't know it was the musical version, so I was quite surprised when Jonny Depp started warbling!! On the way out me and David started singing the things we wanted to say to each other, it was really funny, but I suppose you had to be there. Then we went to Pizza Hut, which is no good for my weightwatchers diet, but the only naughty thing I had was 2 peices of garlic bread (I had a chicken salad, how exciting). Then to bed, but the wind is so blummin' loud I just can't seem to stay asleep. So I came on the internet to see whether there was any delay or cancellation of myflight because of the wind, which there dosen't seem to be. Sorry for the long post, am I rambling...must be the sleep deprivation. What's the betting that I'll be constantly trying to keep myself awake on the 2 hour journey to the airport by wetting my eyelids all the way there?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to my meeting tomorrow, or today I should say; tell you more in the next post! Hope you're all fast asleep!

New day, new cards

Did a couple of new cards last night and thought I would show you. they are all using Do crafts products. I especially love the stamped image of the groovy girl , and combined with the orange and yellow colour scheme, I think it really gives a retro feel. The other card uses flowers that are already die cut for you just to pop onto your card, it couldn't be easier.

Another day of working on and in my craft room today, can't be bad!

Not enough hours in the day...

I promised myself that I was going to keep this blog fully up to date - in fact it was going to be one of my New Year's resolutions, but as ever, time slips away and before you know it it's nearly February!

I've had a great month, busy, but fun. I'm into my first month of self-employment as a freelance papercraft designer and I've been decorating and moving into my craft room, I'm about half moved in, I can't believe how much stuff I've got! I also visited the Farnborough craft exhibition with my friend Shiela. We had a great couple of days, but I got stuck in traffic on the M25 and it took 8 hours to get home!

I've also been completing projects for the Docrafts creativity! magazine, which I love to do - it allows me to let the creative side of me go wild.

As I've been a bit lax, I thought i would post one of my cards which is a fave of mine. Until next time....hopefully it won't be as long, next time!

Theres always a first time...

My first ever post on a blog and i'm already learning fast!

Creating my own blog is a way for me to show off my creative work and meet other card makers. Seeing an array of yummy products like papers and embellishments in a shop makes me feel like a kid in a sweet shop...and i'm not joking!

After card making for several years and demonstrating freelance for 'do crafts' I decided to give up my full-time job and concentrate on launching myself as a freelance designer in the world of crafting.

If you are a card maker and would love to show me your blog leave a comment here!
